With all the demands that pull us in various directions on a day to day basis, it is a challenge to find that inner peace. Whether we know it or not, we are all striving to achieve “homeostasis”, the ideal balance between mind, body and soul. Here are 10 tips to help release your inner beauty and find true happiness!
1. JUST BREATHE
Take at least five minutes every day to simply breathe. Find a quiet spot, clear your mind and just breathe in. Breath in your surrounding and breathe out. Notice all the little things around you. Learn to appreciate the beauty surrounding you.
2. PRACTICE AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Be grateful for all the good and positive things and people in your life. The more we are grateful, the more things we will have to be grateful for.
3. DO WHAT MAKES YOUR SOUL HAPPY
Feed your inner spirit. What makes you truly happy? What strums your inner heart strings? Is it painting and being creative, a walk in the woods communing with nature, spiritual pursuits, working with your hands or helping others? Find whatever it is that truly makes your entire being happy, and do it often.
4. GET SOME SUN
Find every opportunity to get direct sunlight every day, whether in the car, or during lunch. Sunlight is nature’s gift to your skin, body, mind and well-being, just don’t forget the sunscreen. Get your glow on and let the light shine from within.
5. DO RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
Always be kind to others, but also to yourself. Let go of past mistakes and truly learn to forgive yourself. You are a masterpiece in progress, so expect that you will fall at times. Strive to always make a difference everywhere you go. Leave things a little better than you found them.
6. DRINK LOTS OF WATER
Always keep your body hydrated by drinking as much water as possible during the day. Drinking water suppresses appetite, boosts energy and also radiates the skin. Not to mention its many other health benefits.
7. SMILE OFTEN
Smiling is contagious, so smile often. Smiling makes you more likable, and makes others feel comfortable around you. Smiling can be self-soothing and calming to your nerves, so try it.
8. GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Get as much sleep as possible—at least 8 hours. Sleep is the body’s re-charging mechanism. Getting the right amount of sleep can help you feel refreshed, energized and ready to tackle the world.
9. UNPLUG A LITTLE
Every once in a while, unplug a little. Activate the “do not disturb” feature on your phone or simply leave the phone in your car to refocus on you. Let the phones, texts, Facebook posts, Twitter posts, etc. go unanswered and unchecked for a while. Limiting life’s constant interruptions can bring you so much closer to that inner peace realm.
10. TRY TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY
Whether it be a fun fact or a new way to do something, learning helps exercise our minds and gives our confidence a boost.
